This new feature of WhatsApp is technically known as ‘Push-to-talk-messaging’ and there is no limit on the length of recorded message. There is a notification in the form of small blue-microphone that lights up when the messages are being played.

It is to be believed in the market that WhatsApp is trying to capture people who have limited knowledge of English language and who are old. Now they can simply record and receive voice messages. This feature will be beneficial for the user as well as for the company.
